Miles Sweek
Miles grew up in Hailey, Idaho, where he first cast a line into the Big Wood River at six years old. At 13, he was honing his skills at Silver Creek Outfitters as the "wader boy," learning the ropes of the fishing world before starting his guiding career on the Salmon River and then with Silver Creek Outfitters when he turned 18. While he guided the waters of the Wood River Valley, he also attended Montana State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on freshwater ecology.
After graduation, Montana called, and Miles moved there to work for the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks and guide the famed waters of Madison, Big Hole, and Yellowstone National Park. Now, back in Idaho—the place that fueled his fire for fishing and freshwater ecosystems—Miles is dedicated to contributing to the health and vitality of the Big Wood River through his work with Project Big Wood.
